Anchors, Winches, Ropes & Mooring: common questions
Which anchor suits my boat?
Sand anchors hold best in sand and mud. Reef or rock anchors, with tines that bend free, suit rocky bottoms where an anchor could get stuck. Choose a size rated for your boat length and weight, and go bigger if you often anchor in strong wind or tide.
Do I need chain as well as rope?
A length of chain between the anchor and the rope helps the anchor lie flat and dig in, and protects the rope from chafe on the bottom. Make sure the chain and rope suit your anchor winch if you have one.
Are your prices in NZ dollars and do they include GST?
Yes. All prices on this website are in New Zealand dollars and include GST. The freight cost is shown at checkout before you pay.
How quickly will my order arrive?
Orders are generally dispatched the next working day from our Auckland warehouse. Most addresses get delivery within 3 working days, and rural addresses can take up to 5 working days. Statutory holidays can add time. See our delivery policy.
I have a part number. How do I find it?
Type the part number into the search box at the top of any page. If it matches one of our parts exactly, you go straight to that option on its product page.
Can I buy from a shop near me instead?
Yes. Our products are sold through more than 120 marine dealers from Kaitaia to Invercargill. Find your nearest dealer.
